Asian University joins National University Games in Nakon Nayok

Asian University competes in the 2006/2007 Thailand University Games

Asian University has successfully competed in the ‘University Games’ competition for the first time, with positive results for all participants.

Friday 19 January saw the official opening ceremony held at Srinakharinwiirot University in Nakon Nayok with the one-hundred and fourteen competing universities marching into the gymnasium to the beautiful spectacle of the highly professional ceremony, organized by the host university.

In what proved to be an exciting and full tournament Asian U students came away with a positive outlook and a true sense of comradeship and sporting achievement. While Asian University is considerably smaller than many of the participating universities, our students were very pleased to participate in this national competition.

This second stage of the competition saw our students competing in many of the racquet sports after playing football, petanque and basketball in Ayuttaya in the latter part of 2006.

Asian U gets to the Hearts of the Young

Last Saturday (13 January) Asian University hosted a seminar at The Novotel, Siam Square, Bangkok. Over one hundred parents and potential students attended.

The presentations focused on "How to make your study happy, enjoyable and successful."

The panelists were: Dr. Viphandh Roengpithya, President of Asian University and moderator; Prof. Dr. Utumporn Jamornmann, Director National Institute of Educational Testing Service; Dr. Pansak Sugkraroek, Independent Academic and Acharn Pakinai Soontornvipart, President, Guidance Association of Thailand.

Apart from the seminar which was attended by both parents and youngsters, some potential students expressed their interest in apply for scholarships to study at Asian U or The College. They took the opportunity of having their level of English assessed. The event was supported by staff and existing students from the University.
