Welcome Dean Designate

Students and Staff at Asian University, have this week welcomed Dr. Michael Jones as Dean Designate of the Liberal Arts Faculty. It is planned for him to take over from the present Dean when he retires later this year.

With a Ph.D in International Comparative Education & Intercultural Communication and a Master's degree in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Fine Art from Marylhurst University, Oregon, Michael is in an excellent position to supervise and contribute to the Faculty's departments. In addition, Michael has taught English and has experience as a TOEFL and IELTS examiner.

In the USA, Dr. Michael has worked as a research analyst, project coordinator and lecturer at Indiana University (2004-2008).

In Thailand, Michael worked as an Associate Programme Officer at the UN (1991-1993), a materials developer at Sukhothai Open University and as a Senior Programme Specialist Manager at AIT (1995-2000).

In addition to overseas experience in Thailand, Michael has also taught in Tunisia and Morocco and has work experience in Laos and Vietnam. More recently, Michael has been working as a Programme and International Communication Coordinator at the Mekong Institute and as a lecturer at the California Language Centre, both located at Khon Kaen University.
